The Littleton City Council voted to increase the 2016 annual sewer treatment charges from $226.31 to $230.84 for Platte Canyon residential customers; a 2% increase. This increase is expected to be reflected in customer’s annual sanitary sewer service bills beginning in June 2016.

Sanitary sewer charges cover wastewater treatment processing costs for eight water and sanitation districts plus the City of Littleton. All Platte Canyon wastewater is conveyed by the collection system to the Littleton-Englewood Wastewater Treatment Plant at Dartmouth Avenue and Santa Fe Drive for processing before being discharged to the South Platte River. The plant is jointly owned and operated by the cities of Littleton and Englewood.

User charges pay for replacement (36%), maintenance (8%) and operation (56%) of the treatment plant. The plant currently serves more than 75,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in Arapahoe and Jefferson Counties including all or portions of the cities of Littleton, Englewood, Bow Mar, Columbine, Cherry Hills Village, Greenwood Village, Lone Tree and Centennial. Additional information regarding the treatment plant is available at

Questions regarding the proposed sewer rate increase should be addressed to the City of Littleton’s Finance Department by calling 303-795-3772.
