Platte Canyon Water and Sanitation is here to serve you!

Who are we?

Platte Canyon Water and Sanitation District proudly provides water distribution and wastewater collection services to approximately 6,900 residences and businesses in western Arapahoe and eastern Jefferson Counties. We also contract with Southwest Metropolitan, Columbine, and Bow Mar Water and Sanitation districts and Valley Sanitation district. Through Intergovernmental Agreements, Platte Canyon provides labor, equipment, and operations and maintenance services to these partner districts.

What do we do?

Platte Canyon operates and maintains the water and sewer mains your service lines connect to. We are committed to providing our customers with the most reliable, efficient, and cost-effective water distribution and wastewater collection services possible while preserving public health, protecting the environment, and being responsive to customer needs.

Where can you find us?

The District office (pictured above) is located at 8739 W. Coal Mine Avenue. Many residents have mistaken our building for a fire department or a post office! We are available Monday through Friday from 8 am until 4:30 pm. Outside of our regular hours, we always have an on-call staff member who is available to assist you at any time. If you have an emergency outside of our regular business hours, you may call the main office number and follow the prompts to page the on-call personnel.

How can we help you?

Although we do not put out fires or deliver mail, we do provide many services that our customers may not be aware of. For instance, if you have an emergency such as a water leak or sewer back up, call the District first. We will shut off your water as soon as possible and aid you in troubleshooting the cause of a leak or a backup.

Other services we provide include:

  • Scheduled water shut offs
  • Troubleshooting a high-water bill
  • Water quality concerns such as: discolored water, sediment in water, strange odor/taste
  • High or low water pressure concerns
  • Locating curb stops and meter pits
  • Responding to leaking or damaged hydrants or missing valve or manhole covers

If you suspect a water main break or sewer main back up, please call the District ASAP at 303-979-2333.

We also have a new webpage dedicated to HOA outreach under the Residents section of our website. At www.plattecanyon.org/hoa you will find content available that can be utilized in your HOA newsletters. If you think your HOA or community may be interested in a short presentation regarding all of the above information and more, please contact us at 303-979-2333 or info@plattecanyon.org.
