Platte Canyon Water & Sanitation has contracted with Diaz Construction to replace the water mains in W. Alder Avenue between S. Kendall Boulevard and S. Jay Drive and in S. Kendall Boulevard between W. Alder Avenue and W. Monticello Avenue in the Columbine Hills subdivision. These projects are part of an on-going effort to update Platte Canyon’s aging infrastructure and improve the quality and reliability of water distribution in your neighborhood.
Asphalt milling is projected to start on Wednesday, August 12 on W. Alder Avenue. This project involves the installation of 400 feet of 6-inch PVC pipe. Following the start of the W. Alder Avenue project will be the S. Kendall Blvd. water main replacement which is expected to start the week of August 17. These projects will overlap and are expected to be substantially completed in four weeks from the start date. The S. Kendall Blvd. project will replace 1,232 feet of 8-inch cast iron pipe with 12-inch PVC pipe.
- Working hours will be from 7 am to 5 pm
- Short-term outages will be required as the work progresses.
- Residents will be notified at least 24 hours in advance of the outages.
The District realizes that many families will be at home during the construction. If requested, the District can supply bottled drinking water to affected customers during scheduled outages. To request bottled water you may contact the office at 303-979-2333 or info@plattecanyon.org.
