Completed pipeline installment in W. Canyon Avenue

Five water main replacement projects are scheduled for construction this year. All five projects involve replacing old cast iron pipe with severe levels of corrosion leading to numerous water main breaks in the last 10 years.

The construction contracts were awarded to Diaz Construction and the first project to go under construction was the W. Canyon Avenue water main replacement (pictured above). Due to unforeseen contractor delays, this project did not start as early as anticipated. Crews began milling the asphalt on Friday, July 24 and are currently installing pipe in W. Canyon Avenue with over one-third of pipeline installed so far (pictured right). This project is anticipated to be complete in approximately four weeks.

Construction is projected to start on W. Canyon Trail the first week of August with the possibility of asphalt milling by the end of this week. The S. Kendall Boulevard water main replacement is projected to start the week of August 8. Multiple crews will be working on overlapping projects to speed up project completions.
