Capital Projects Near Completion

The three water main replacement projects in Columbine Hills are all nearing completion. The contract was awarded to Diaz Construction Group Inc. The majority of the pipe has been laid for all three water main replacements. Final paving is projected for the end of September or early October.

W. Caryl Place

All of the water pipe has been installed and all domestic water services have been transferred to the new main. The old main has been abandoned. This project replaced 404 feet of 6-inch cast iron pipe with 6-inch PVC pipe in W. Caryl Pl. from S. Depew Way to S. Ames Way.

W. Elmhurst Avenue

The majority of the new pipe has been installed. Crews are working on installing the final 500 feet of PVC. Final main abandonment should conclude by Monday, September 12th. This project is replacing 2,306 feet of 6-inch cast iron pipe with 12-inch PVC pipe in W. Elmhurst Ave. from S. Depew St. to S. Lamar St.

W. Chestnut Drive

All of the water pipe has been installed and all domestic water services have been transferred to the new main. The old main has been abandoned. This project replaced 821 feet of 6-inch cast iron pipe with 6-inch PVC pipe in W. Chestnut Dr. from W. Elmhurst Ave. to S. Kendall Ct.
