Platte Canyon Water and Sanitation District has contracted with Insituform Technologies to rehabilitate the sanitary sewer main in Columbine Hills. The project area will include S. Marshall Ct., S. Marshall St., S. Lamar Ct., W. Alder Ave., and W. Chestnut Ave. There have been no sanitary sewer backups on this segment; however, due to the age of the pipe along with the consistent maintenance required to keep the pipe in proper operating conditions, rehabilitation is necessary. The most cost effective and least disruptive method for rehabilitating sewer pipe is to use a process known as cured-in-place lining. This approach eliminates the need for excavation and asphalt replacement.
This project is scheduled for March 2025. The district intends to complete this project in a timely manner to minimize the inconvenience to district residents. The contractor will be completing the necessary prep work on March 3-4. The sewer lining is scheduled for March 12-14.
Affected residents will receive hand delivered notifications today and will be notified at least 48 hours in advance of any service interruptions. It is the nature of any construction activity that unforeseen circumstances may affect the schedule, requiring activities to be delayed or otherwise rescheduled. The district will provide updates regarding any changes from the above-mentioned dates should they occur.
