CHRISTMAS TREE

Ways to Recycle Your Christmas Tree

Littleton and South Suburban Parks and Recreation (SSPR) will again be collecting and mulching Christmas trees from December 26 through January 12.

The Littleton collection site is located at Cornerstone Park at the southeast corner of W. Belleview Avenue and S. Windermere Street. Access to the site is off of Windermere Street just south of Belleview, with the drop site in the parking lot adjacent to the soccer fields. SSPR will collect trees at its Willow Springs Service Center, 7100 S. Holly Street in Centennial. Both sites are open everyday from sunrise to sunset. For more information click here. The City of Littleton also provides free wood mulch throughout the year.

If you’re looking for a fun and entertaining way to discard your old Christmas tree and even start a new family tradition, you can donate it to the Five Fridges Farm in Wheat Ridge. The urban farm is accepting donated trees to feed its goats, which is quite a treat for them.

Drop off your tree at the Farm (11100 W 38th Ave) any day during daylight hours (follow the signs for where to leave them). The goats will love you for it! The goats love the evergreens, but the chemicals and decorations are not good for them. Make sure your tree is free from all chemicals, colors, and frost/snow, wires, strings, and decorations.
